It's been a few months since I've posted. I've missed you, dearly.
I needed some time away. The energy required to maintain two blogs kind of hit me like a ton of bricks and I needed to back off.
I took the time to hang with the kids, play in the garden, avoid the internet, take a family vacation, do an intensive hot yoga teacher training, watch movies, get a tattoe....yada, yada, ya. The list goes on and on.
Truth be known, I hadn't had anything new to offer to you regarding raw foods, until now and even now, I'm not going to go into a recipe right away.
This has been my summer of slowing the heck down, not being in such a rush. It's been nice.
Bishop and zucchini from our gardenI'm taking things a bit slow, there's really no hurry to get started with anything really.
Summer isn't quite over, although, my oldest daughter starts her senior year of high school this Wednesday, but the other kids don't start until later this month.
Avery watering the spinach and lettuce.Anywho. There are several recipes that I would like to experiment with but I'm not in a hurry to master.
In the next coming days (weeks, months) I invite you to come along with me while I venture into the raw culinary unknown.
Kale from the gardenGardening and yoga has taught me that the journey is more important than the destination.
The first recipe I am going to focus on is Dr. Ann Wigmore's Energy Soup.
I'll read information about, experiment and share what I've learned.
Again my personal lesson could take one post or several. No rush.
Above is a quickie version of the soup made from kale and tomatoes from our garden, I'll share the recipe and process in the next few posts.
In the mean time, let's catch up a bit. Drop me a line in the comment box and tell me what you have been doing this summer.

Terilynn!!!
I missed you. It's so great to see you are popping your head back to say hello.
It sounds like it has been a lovely summer for you--and the pics are gorgeous.
Getting away from the online life is a good thing to do sometimes, especially when we have children. ;-)
I look forward to any future posts you feel like making. You're one of my favorite blogs to follow.
You can kind of catch up with what I've been doing by visiting my blog, but that would cause you to sit at the computer for a longer amount of time. :-P I've been well and making some major changes in my life. When things are in motion, you'll be hearing about it, I'm sure.
Lots of love to you,
Wendi
XOXOXO
Hi! Glad you're back. I checked out your blog on Sunday night and was sad to see there was nothing new posted in a long time. Although I had been "raw" for about 6 months last year, I lost my motivation. However, you do inspire me, so who know, maybe I'll find it in me again to try! Thanks for your return. Best wishes, Rose
yay your back! it's good to slow down every once in awhile, gain some perspective. awesome that you did yoga teacher training!
looking forward to reading your blog again!
Glad to see you back. Missed you while you were away, but understand the need to slow down, regroup, and be with family. Looking forward to reading Daily Raw again. Ann Arbor, MI
Good to have you back. It's weird, because we are on the same page. I've been feeling the urge to play around the Dr. Wigmore's energy soup too. The Boutenko's have some good green soups too they share in their newsletters. Sergei and Valya Boutenko's book "Fresh" has some wonderful soups in it.
I'm so glad you're back. I miss your pictures especially but I also think of you as a guiding light. Being able to hold yourself in such a positive stance with all the negativity around us all is a gift from God. I strive to attain half of your strength. Love, Cory.
Hello, I am new to blogs and new to living foods. Reading blogs like yours are very helpful. Thank you. I am a mother of an 18 mnth old boy and 3 mnth old girl and we have spent this great summer being together. Me and my son are discovering new great foods together which has been great. I love your garden. I saw you are growing Kale. What kind is it because we just tried some bright green Kale and it was awful. I want to say sour/spicy. I can't even describe it. Maybe I bought the wrong kind??? I just started a little garden in our patio. We are growing dwarf avocado and citrus trees, tomatoes, jalapenos, and basil. We should see fruit in a few years. Haha J/k. We already ate two little tomatoes.Yum.
Great to see you are back and your garden looks wonderful!
Nice to see you are back here :)
your kale looks beautiful
Welcome back!
Thank you soooooo much for this post! I love this blog of yours!
It's good to see you back. I can definitely relate. It's hard to keep up with the kids and the blogging, too. Sometimes family just comes first.
We've missed you too! I've tried many of your recipes and my daughter and I are always happy afterwards. Glad your taking time and enjoying the summer and your family
I'm glad you are taking time out to enjoy your family and garden. I'm so envious of you. I live in a townhouse so I have a really small yard. I did venture out though and planted tomatoes and cucumbers that came out great! My daughter and I have tried many of your recipes and we're always satisfied... Thank you!
Waiting to see more of your postings....
I'm glad you're back, or at least on your way back. I haven't clicked on your blog in awhile although I have you linked off of mine. I did so great last summer eating raw. I thought surely I would be a raw foodist, but I reverted to my old ways and I've gained 15 pounds!!! I need inspiration. I need focus and someone to prod me alone. Please share recipes that are easy and will sustain me.
Welcome back to you as well. I have missed your recipes. I understand all to well how busy we get in life. I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity as well as chronic severe allergies to food, dust, mold and pollen. The first place a back away from is the internet and a focus on the family and their health and education. As for me, I always have lots to say just not enough time in a single day, or I am just too tired to type. You are always up on my blogroll because your post are excellent and I will always check our your great recipes. I love the pictures of the kids, wish I could have a garden here in the desert. The allergies alone from the dirt is to bad for me to do that. Maybe some indoor gardening:) Have a great day. Missed you too.
Anna
Please post more photos of the garden. It looks great. Have you heard of Path to Freedom urban homestead in Pasadena?
